Kingly Roman Display Typeface Design

Kingly Roman Display is a modern-style typeface family with classic overtones, high contrast and delicate, sharp features, influenced by the Scotch Roman. Confident and bold as brass, Kingly sparkles as it struts along.

Named after Kingly Street in Soho, London, Kingly Display pays reverence to one of the capital’s most (in)famous, diverse and eclectic areas. Sadly, like most areas of London,

The family comes in five weights from light to extra bold with corresponding italics, and all styles contain swash caps, ligatures, alternatives and a set of small caps.

Still a work in progress, I hope to have the display family finished by October/November. I’m also working on a text version in three weights with italics.

A classic, sharp-seriffed typeface design, influenced by Scotch Roman. My homage to Soho, London.
